Onchain Guilds and New Game Debuts
During the YGG Play Summit, YGG co-founder Gabby Dizon, alongside Base creator Jesse Pollak, announced the launch of Onchain Guilds on the Base blockchain. GAP Season 8 served as the pilot run for these guilds, onboarding a select group of active and established guilds within the community, as well as newer global guild partners. A total of 75 guilds signed up, with 49 completing at least one guild quest.
The season marked the debut of seven highly anticipated games, including Anichess, Blast Royale, Champions Tactics, Immortal Rising 2, MapleStory Universe, RavenQuest, and Space Nation. Anichess, a collaboration between Animoca Brands and Chess.com, attracted 12,700 quest enrollments. Blast Royale and Immortal Rising 2 followed with 9,600 and 9,200 enrollments, respectively.
Increased Engagement and Rewards
YGG Future of Work (FoW) recorded the highest number of bounty enrollments, with over 8,600 questers signing up for the Navigate questline. This represented a 227% increase in non-game quest completions compared to the previous season. Other notable bounties included the YGG Pilipinas Online Events questline and the Welcome to Basement.fun quest.
Participants who collected YGG points in Season 7 could continue their progress in the Rewards Center. They also had the opportunity to increase their YGG and partner token rewards by staking for multipliers through The Stake House. Over 765,000 YGG tokens were staked by nearly 1,500 questers during the season.
GAP Season 8 ran from November 15, 2024, to January 8, 2025, with an appeals window extending to January 31, 2025. The season’s success and the introduction of Onchain Guilds are expected to foster more community engagement and participation in future seasons.
