Ethereum’s Rollup Ecosystem Expands with Curve-Lite Deployment

Share

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • Ethereum’s ecosystem is expanding with a focus on rollup-centric scaling, involving numerous Rollup-as-a-Service teams.
  • CurveDAO has launched Curve-Lite, a streamlined DEX infrastructure for EVM networks, supporting OP Stack, Arbitrum Nitro, and more.
  • Curve-Lite’s open-source code facilitates easy deployment and integration across various Ethereum Layer-2 and Layer-3 solutions.
  • The first deployment of Curve-Lite is on Arbitrum Sepolia, with production deployments anticipated soon.

Ethereum’s ecosystem is witnessing significant growth through its rollup-centric approach to scaling. This expansion is marked by a rising number of Rollup-as-a-Service teams, including Conduit, Caledera, and Gelato, among others. These teams are contributing to the increasing list of rollups that settle on Ethereum’s Layer-2 networks, such as Base, Arbitrum, and Optimism.

In addition to Layer-2 rollups, Layer-3 solutions are also emerging, which settle onto these Layer-2 networks. Each rollup requires decentralized exchange (DEX) functionality from the outset to enable users to exchange assets on their networks. To address this demand, contributors from CurveDAO have introduced Curve-Lite, a streamlined deployment of Curve’s essential DEX infrastructure.

Curve-Lite is designed to automatically deploy all necessary smart contracts to power DEX functionality on any Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) network. The code is open-sourced and can be accessed here. Currently, Curve-Lite supports OP Stack, Arbitrum Nitro, Polygon CDK, and Taiko Stack, with plans for further integrations.

As a lite deployment, Curve-Lite includes a minimal yet complete set of smart contracts, adhering to standardized patterns. This makes them familiar to searchers and integrators across EVM chains and easily queryable through the Curve Metaregistry. Contributors to rollups interested in adding their stack to the supported list are encouraged to contact Curve contributors via Discord or Telegram.

The first instance of Curve-Lite has been deployed on Arbitrum Sepolia, a testnet for Arbitrum, with production deployments expected soon. More details about the launch can be found here.
