Hong Kong, 7 November 2024 – Cronos Labs, a blockchain startup accelerator, has announced an expansion of its strategic partnership with Google Cloud. This collaboration will see Google Cloud become the primary cloud provider for the Cronos blockchain ecosystem.

The partnership focuses on four key areas: onboarding Google Cloud as a Cronos validator, enhancing Cronos’s technical performance, increasing developer adoption at the intersection of AI and blockchain, and creating value for startups in the Cronos Accelerator program.

Google Cloud Joins as a Cronos Validator

Google Cloud will join a pool of 32 validators on the open-source Cronos EVM protocol. Validators play a crucial role in the decentralized validation of transactions by producing or confirming new blocks. This addition aligns with Cronos’ strategy of partnering with open-source contributors known for their technical expertise, including Crypto.com and Ubisoft.

Enhancing Cronos’s Performance with Google Cloud

Cronos Labs has utilized Google Cloud to develop the infrastructure for Cronos zkEVM, a Layer-2 blockchain network powered by ZK Chain technology. This infrastructure leverages Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) Autopilot, AlloyDB, and Google Compute Engine to enhance performance and accessibility.

These technologies, combined with Google Cloud’s AI and data analytics expertise, position Cronos for accelerated growth and innovation in the Web3 landscape.

Driving Developer Adoption at the Intersection of AI and Blockchain

The collaboration will also focus on innovation opportunities at the intersection of blockchain and AI. Cronos has launched its blockchain datasets on Google Cloud’s platform, enabling advanced analytics and innovative use cases.

To foster innovation, Cronos and Google Cloud will co-host virtual hackathons, providing developers with hands-on experience with AI and blockchain technologies.
