Codebase, an incubator program for early-stage Web3 startups building on the Avalanche network, has announced its second cohort of teams. This follows a competitive selection process that saw nearly 100 applications from over 20 countries. The program aims to support innovative startups by providing them with essential resources and guidance.

The selected startups kicked off Season 2 with a week in Buenos Aires at the Avalanche Summit LATAM. This was followed by an onboarding week that included pitch practice workshops and breakout sessions with the Avalanche Foundation Board, prominent ecosystem founders, and project leads from Codebase Cohort 1.

The program will culminate in an online demo day on December 18, where each startup will pitch for three prizes within a prize pool of $1 million. The winners will be determined by a weighted score from a panel of investors and the broader Avalanche community.

Innovative Startups in the Cohort

The second cohort features a diverse range of startups. Disgo, for instance, is a next-generation loyalty platform designed to help local restaurants and bars track and reward word-of-mouth marketing. Another participant, Encryptech, offers a decentralized AI platform with homomorphic encryption, ensuring privacy in secure, scalable computations on the Avalanche blockchain.

XKOVA is also part of the cohort, providing a next-generation payment processor that aims to make transactions cheaper and more secure. Finna Protocol is building inflation-resistant solutions for emerging economies, focusing on FX-backed loans, remittances, and invoice settlement. Lucero Labs is revolutionizing digital identity and remote signing in Argentina, leveraging recent regulatory changes to offer legally binding digital signatures.

Avalanche’s Role in Supporting Innovation

Avalanche is a high-performance blockchain platform designed for builders who need to scale. It features a revolutionary three-part Layer 1 (L1) architecture and an open-source Layer 0 (L0) framework, enabling the creation of interoperable Layer 1 blockchains with high throughput. Supported by a global community of developers and validators, Avalanche provides a fast, low-cost environment for building decentralized applications (dApps).

The platform’s unique blend of speed, flexibility, and scalability makes it a preferred choice for innovators pushing the boundaries of blockchain technology. More details about the program and the cohort can be found here.
